A Flexible Framework for Teachers

SpringBoard offers the only Pre-AP® instructional model designed for both teacher and student success. Based on extensive research and field testing, and using the Wiggins and McTighe Understanding by Design model, the curriculum uniquely maps AP and college expectations back to sixth grade and charts a road map for college success from middle school through high school. Unit openers provide the context for learning and link the content unit by unit.

SpringBoard includes a variety of options designed to measure student progress and inform teaching.

Embedded Assessments offer performance-based measurements.
Unit Assessments contain high-quality test items with distractor rationales.

Professional Development

SpringBoard combines face-to-face, multi-year training with online support. All trainers are current or former SpringBoard teachers, coaches or administrators extensively trained and certified by the College Board, bringing practical experience in successful implementation.

Teacher Workshops: Teachers participate in three days of Initial Institute training in year one and two days of Advanced Workshop training in years two and three.
Administrator Workshops: Administrators are provided with the knowledge and tools they need to monitor and support their teachers.
Customized Services: Workshops and coaching sessions on topics including Cognitive Coaching, Scoring with Rubrics, monitoring implementation and more.

SpringBoard Online and Community

Students and educators have online access to textbook content. In addition, teachers also have online access to:

Customizable assessments and reports to inform instruction
Correlations to state standards, the Common Core State Standards and the rigorous College Board standards
A peer-to-peer online professional learning "community” where teachers and administrators can exchange ideas, share best practices and get expert advice
